Dolphin doesn’t ring a bell? We won’t blame you, especially considering how few cars the race car builder produced during its lifetime through the ‘50s and ‘60s.
This 1961 Sports Racer represents one of some 16 examples built by the San Diego-based manufacturer, and features a 302 cubic-inch Chevrolet V8 backed by a Hewland LG300 five-speed transmission.
Records of the car competing in local races go back to at least 1975, with the Dolphin later participating in the 2004 Goodwood Revival.
Find this 1961 Dolphin Sports Racer for sale from Fantasy Junction for $79,500.
