Using Media Blasting to See the Condition of the Bodywork | Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite Project

Now that our 1960 Austin-Healey Sprite was disassembled, it was time to see what kind of condition all of its parts were in. Sure, we could slather on the degreaser or go to town with a sander to clean off all that paint, dirt and grime, but in our many years of restoring cars, we’ve found that media blasting is particularly effective at stripping the components down to bare metal without damaging them.

So, we sent our Sprite down to Blast Masters, a shop that has media-blasted a number of our projects in the past, including our Elva racer.
