Did Mercedes-Benz save the best for last? The 280SL–the last of the W113 chassis–certainly makes a compelling argument.
This European specification 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is extra special as it features the rare four-speed manual gearbox.
In 2016, the 280SL underwent a “two-year-long 100% rotisserie restoration." The work was apparently so thorough that the seller notes that “all aspects of the vehicle were brought back to exactly the way they left the factory 55 years ago.”
Find this 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL for sale from Canepa, price available upon application. As a point of reference, Hagerty currently values a 280SL of this vintage in No. 2 condition at $121,000.
