For only 1972, Porsche fitted the Ölklappe, aka an external oil filter for the engine's dry-sump oil tank. Less than 1000 examples were built like this, and this is one of them. And of those 1000, this one has had just one owner.
Bonhams says this car is offered in “time-warp condition.” It was never restored and was kept inside the house of the first owner.
According to the family of the owner, the 911 was last used 25 years ago. The odometer has more than 89,000km (55,000 miles) and the 911 retains its matching-numbers chassis and engine.
Find this 1972 Porsche 911E 2.4-Litre Targa ‘Ölklappe’ for auction at Bonhams | Cars, with an estimated value of $73,000-$100,000.
