That’s right, the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B seen here was stolen from a hotel parking lot in 2022, along with the truck and trailer it had been transported with. More than a year later, the ATF and FBI tracked it down. Fortunately, the Alfa Romeo was found with just superficial cosmetic damage, which has since been repaired.

Selling the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B might be hard to do on the black market. Only five are known to exist. This particular example has been owned by several noted collectors, including Dr. Fred Simeone, the namesake of the famed Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia.

This example is a winner, receiving best of show at Villa d’Este (1996) and first in class at Pebble Beach (2000). Never before has this Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B had been offered in a public auction.

Find this 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Spider for auction at Gooding & Company, with an estimated value of $16,000,000-$20,000,000.
