What makes a historic race car more appealing? Wins in big races with a big-name driver and a big-name team. That’s the case for this Jaguar XJR-10 campaigned by the legendary Tom Walkinshaw Racing.
Davy Jones, not to be confused with the pirate, won the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans. Before that, he scored two IMSA victories with this Jaguar XJR-10. Specifically, he earned top trophies at the Portland 300km in 1990 and West Palm Beach 2 Hour in 1991. The Jaguar is presented in its livery from the latter win.
Besides Jones, other drivers took turns behind the wheel of this XJR-10 in period. They include Martin Brundle (24 Hours of Le Mans winner in 1990), Jan Lammers (24 Hours of Le Mans winner in 1988), Raul Boesel (24 Hours of Daytona winner in 1988), and Price Cobb (24 Hours of Le Mans winner in 1990).
Find this 1989 Jaguar XJR-10 for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $850,000-$1,250,000.
