Update: this car continues to rule.  In the spring I built this mtb tray for it so I can drive it even more instead of having to use a different vehicle when I'm planning to ride, works great!

After ~7 years of owning this thing, I decided it should have another fresh timing belt.  I've got this under 45min consistently now, I've probably done more MR2 timing belts than all other chassis/engines combined:

Seems like that old MR2 gets to rest after a life of racing and just be enjoyed as a fun lil commuter.

I think it may someday become a racecar again, but for now this is the best job I have for it- rallying takes up all the competition time and budget and this car is probably too nice an example to do that to.  For me, racing something more modern (for chassis strength and ease of parts acquisition) makes a lot of sense and so does driving something older, for the enjoyment and simplicity of it.
