Ignoring dealer gouging which will go away eventually. How can the car be overpriced? Is it more than a 350z was? Is it more than a Genesis coupe? Is it more than an MX-5 miata?
I think most of those cars you are close to 30k+ on if I am not mistaken. Depreciation wise the mustang is going to drop in value much faster than the toybaru twins just because it is a domestic

I think those cars listed are the convertible ones allowed on the class. Why would they allow coupes in a class for roadsters? (not being an ass, just an honest question)
Anyhow, I'd like to see one in stx with a good wheel and tire setup and see how it compares to the rx-8s. I think that's the benchmark car for the brz.

The 350Z is a lot more car than the toyobaru. The base price of the Genesis is $1k less and the Miata is $2k less. The V-6 Mustang is $3k less. The toyobaru has standard equipment that I don't want and won't pay for, so that also makes it overpriced - FOR ME. If you don't think so, go buy one. It's my opinion, k???

If it started closer to $20k (as in $20,159) they would move a LOT more of them. It would be a kick for them to undercut the MX-5. Surely the fixed roof is cheaper to make than all the required convertible shenanigans.

Not to point out the obvious, but they are already selling more than they can make.
Sane business plan calls for raising the price. No?
Trust me, people with a LOT more experience, training and insight have already studied this matter. Good chance they have a clue.
Also, I would suggest to you that lowering the price would NOT sell more cars in the short or long run. The number of people on the planet who WANT this car is limited. And much like racing, those that want it wont let anything get in their way; certainly not a few thousand dollars. The punters, on the other hand, will just come up with reasons why no sane person would buy the car.
