Yeah, I have to see what the deal is with the place RevRico posted, because unless there is some absolutely major dealbreaker, I'll likely go there and drive the same distance and save myself $350

In the ongoing saga of "Where shall I get my Torsen swap?", Pennsylvania dude has not answered my e-mails or multiple phone calls. Looks like I might be heading north at the moment.
If you can find a fc rx7 non turbo lsd and 1.8 Miata open diff you can put them together for cheaper than a torsen. I did my complete swap for under $400.
I haven't seen any generation RX-7s around here in junkyards, ever. Nor any 1.8L differentials of any set up. Plus that isn't a straight bolt-together swap, which I'm trying to avoid. Our SCCA Enduro event is the 24th, so I'm hoping to do the swap during the week between when I get it, so that I don't have to do that event on the VLSD
Okay, so after two e-mails, three phone-calls and two answering machine messages to the guy in Pennsylvania, I have not received a response at all. Fine way to run a business. So, looks like I'm heading north to NH on the 16th of July. So, Wonko, still wanna grab that BBQ that you mentioned? And anyone else interested in meeting up?
That sucks that you can't get it for the better price, but I think I'm open next weekend! Shoot me an email (or reply to this thread, I've subscribed) and we'll sort out the details closer to then.
Stay for Sunday and autocross at Devens! I'll be around later in the day Saturday but I have my work summer party during the day. I'm about 30 minutes from Derry though.

I'd like to but my parents are going out of town and I have to take care of their cat and house, so I don't dare be gone for longer than a day

Bring the cat along?

I hate that cat, not spending any more time with it then necessary. Plus, today I attempted to take the end of one of my fingers off, so I won't be doing any performance driving in the near future.
RevRico wrote: SO, not sure if he currently has any in stock, they're on the price list though. Mikes Miata Parts in Middletown, PA has the swap listed for 750.
Mike Mack is a good guy. I bought some stuff off of him. He's pretty good at being competitive, but he knows what stuff is worth.
And yes, he takes vacations. It's just him, and he wasn't very good with email.

Okay, looks like things are still on. Plan is to leave at 6am-ish so that I get there around 11. Get loaded up and then headed over to Massachusetts, that's about a 1 hour drive, so should arrive in the noon to 1 o'clock region and grab lunch then head home. My number is 615-310-3565. Let me know yours so I can shoot you a text when I leave Expoline.
Cool. The place I was thinking of for lunch is B.T's SmokeHouse, 392 Main St, Sturbridge, MA 01566.
I'm < 30 minutes from there, so just give me a shout when you're on the return trip and I'll meet up. I'm going to send you a text with my number.
If you want, you're welcome to swing by my place and toss the new diff in on the lift.
You'll need to log in to post.
