Series 6 of the (un)official GRM GT6 online racing series starts next week! Races run each Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 9pm EST.

Before the series starts we are hosting a practice event this Wednesday 5/13 at 9pm for all comers and interested parties (that would be you).

All you need is a PS3, internet, and a copy of GT6. You can use a headset if you want but don't have to. You can use a wheel but a controller works fine. Copies of GT6 can be had for twenty bucks.

After you check out the pictures and video here, follow this link over to the main series thread for all the info and details:

But first, check out the pictures. Here are some shots from this last Sunday's practice race. For Sunday's, the Showroom Stock series will be the Honda S2000. They make for very close racing!

Each race day consists of two sprint races for each of two series. The first race is about 8 minutes, the second race is one lap longer and is an inverted grid based on the finishing order of the first heat. Best combined finish wins the night!

The "Tuner" modified series for Sunday nights is any version of the Mazda RX-7 (FD). Mods are open up to 500pp tune.

These things are pretty quick and fun!

Some of the finishes get pretty exciting!!

For Wednesday's, the Showroom Stock series is a full race car! The Renault Megane Trophy Touring Car. Besides paint, you have to run it just as it is delivered. It is mid engine and rear wheel drive!

The Wednesday "Tuner" class is a classic Small Bore Cup. Under 2 liter pre 1974. There are over 30 cars to choose from! Tuning is limited to transmission and engine up to a 4.0 kg/hp. Lots of variety, lots of fun!

Still not convinced? (Wow. You're tough...) Watch this video of a heat race from a previous series. These are identical Honda CRZ Touring Cars in a four lap race at the Red Bull Ring. Enjoy.

Where in the hell did Anth come from? Dean was relentless. I'm sorry I missed that series. It's been a while since we have had that many people.

In reply to Nick_Comstock:

Yeah, that was a crazy race. At the Red Bull Ring the three long straights make the draft very effective. You can pass from second place pretty much at will. I was a sitting duck going into the last lap in the lead. Dean was trying to bump draft the two of us out to enough of a lead that we could settle it between ourselves. No dice. Everyone tried to make a move in the last two corners. Anth managed to find a clear path. Crazy!

That was some good racing! I'm going to blame my finish on Dean leaving his car in reverse at the start

That was the second time he did that!

Do a race in stock GT40s, but turn all driver assists all the way off. No ABS, no traction control, etc.

I would love to, but that can be very frustrating for beginners and those without wheel setups.

Besides, if I did it, I would use the RUF Yellowbird! , something I do occasionally. Challenging is certainly a word for it.

I'm a little slow with the FD RX-7 still. It's a drift machine without traction control!

Mine is completely planted, I don't think it's stepped out on me one time in testing that wasn't planned. If you would like I can share my tune and see if it suits your driving style.

I practiced with the tune you guys provided, my tune was too stiff with SM tires. I will tune the GRM tune first.

Try the diff at 5/10/5 and see if that helps. My suspension tune is nothing like the ones posted.

I'll have a few more hours to tune, (progress offline and get more game money) in the next round.

To get in on things tonight yes but the season does not start untill this comming Sunday so you have some time to get some cash and some test and tune time in.

I worked on the FDs last night and also watched Sauce run some laps. That was a big help.

I have tried several tunes for the FD and have an ok one for the early cars. It lacks a bit of speed but I got it dialed in so it is not trying to kill me every lap.

The later cars are a much easier place to start if you don't want to spend alot of time tuning and you want a car that is a bit more in control. There base tune will get you in the top half of the field. However they are down on power and a bit heavier so it takes a different driving style. You have to carry more speed in the corners and get the power down sooner.

Both cars are lots if fun. I still think that the early cars have more potential if you can get them settled down and get the correct balance of grip and rotation but finding that magic setup is going to take more work as they are pretty far off the mark with the base tune.

Change in days that each class runs, by popular demand: The FD RX-7 Tuner series and the Megane Trophy Touring Car showroom stock series will run on Sunday nights (starting 5/17). The Small Bore vintage under 2 liter tuning series and the Honda S2000 showroom stock series will run on Wednesday's (starting 5/20). You can run any or all of the classes and one or both days.

Good, close racing until... More flying lessons needed. Comp "sticks" the landing right on top of the Lotus. Benefit: 2000GT. Cold race tires on the first lap of the Megane's. Yet more cold tire carnage. A lead break away pack of four makes it through. Fun evening of competitive racing. The Sunday and Wednesday classes should make for some great competition this season!

Sunday is looking to be a lot of fun.
