I love this project. Sounds like a blast! I think Ferdinand Geo would be proud.

I think we need to set up a play date with your car and the MetroGnome:

Sorry for the lack of updates, been struggling to make progress in some areas.I took the jackshaft out and fabbed up the plate to mount another bearing at the u-joint end and reinstalled everything only to figure out the shaft has too much runout.Set-up an indicator and figured out it was the driveshaft adapter that was slightly cocked.Pulled everything back out ....again....and removed the adapter and its galled.Obviously I fooked it up when installed originally. Just got off the phone with Hawk machine and he's sending another 1st thing monday morning so I should have it tuesday or wednesday-good guy to deal with for sure.

I have the fuel lines run,the ducting for the cooling and defroster mostly done, clutch and throttle cables made and installed, added an additional oem clutch spring to firm up the holding power, started fabbing up the rear control arm mounts, made some poly bushing for the control arms with leftover bushings from another project, have a start on the engine panels but have to hold off on that now untill the driveshaft adapter arives and the jackshaft is all back in. Also received a new pair of cheapy coilover sleeves for the rear(they match the ones on the front)so I can work on the rear tomorrow maybe.I also have new struts to swap into the front, have a set of 4 identical in fact-how many cars do you know that use the same strut all around? I'll take a couple pics once things look like they are actually progressing instead of regressing.

Yes the new one will receive a sensual hot oil massage before that sucker gets tapped on.

I just watched your video. It shows why iceracing is so much fun. Beautiful winter day. Couldn't be any better. Love it.

We have a fellow that built a car from scratch using a Citroen (sp) SM ( Maserati V6 ) drive train. I is now Fwd but he said someday he may move the drive train to the rear. We get some old sprint cars. Pretty fast.

Still making progress but its been a few snags along the way, when I pulled the hot rodded 13B out to sell I also pulled the entire harness from the car to go along with it.So now the car is rewired for the essentials, brake light, wipers, blower motor for defroster and a rear facing fog light for the heavy snow days. The engine now runs as well, all the controls are finished, the rear suspension is in(just need to fab the toe links this weekend).the engine box has been installed along with the ducting to the rad. I've been working on those things putting off the hawk adapter install but thats on the to do list tomorrow morning so I can restring the chains and mount up the 4 tensioners.Still need to fab the exhaust, replumb the entire brake system, brace the diff plates now that the rear LCA mounts are installed, install the panels on the chain case, build the battery mount and finish the engine box top and door side.

This car is in poor taste, questionable material quality, and rushed engineering.

I love it.

This is the most awesome project ever. It's a rolling deathtrap!! How friggin' sweet is that?! If the chain lets go on this thing, it could easily fly around and seriously damage, if not decapitate you. That's absolutely awesome!

Once the chain is back in more cross tubes will be added to support the tensioners and the metal is allready bent and waiting to be installed on all 4 sides of the chain case.It would be bad news to lose my right arm,I use it for so many things. I wish I had more time to make it prettier, just not going to happen right now,if the off season I'd like to clean up much of the uglyness with some additional elbow grease, wire wheel and paint.

Chain and tensioners are in and seem to work, clutch and shifter tested and work fine,cv shafts built and a few other things done.I'll be installing the chain case covers tomorrow so I'll get some pics for ya. No time to waste as the season starts next weekend weather permitting.
