Hi y'all,
How do I get into computer programming? I don't know what for or what kind. I've thought it would be kinda fun and was thinking that if I knew more about it or knew how maybe I could (hypothetically) take on some sort of remote part time job. Lol kinda doubting myself on that one but anyway, where would I even go or look to learn or see if this is something I for sure want to do?

That's pretty much what led to my current job(for the last decade). I'd had about a month or 2 of Basic classes as a kid, and another 2-weeks in college, but that was my only prior experience.
I downloaded a free copy of SQL Server & bought a book back in early 2012, played around with it just a little bit, then found myself unemployed at the end of May. I applied for 2 Data Analyst jobs, got an interview for my current one, and came here for help with the answers on the quiz they sent me prior to the interview. :-)
Edit: I'll add that from my position anything close to a full-stack developer job(besides typically requiring a degree + experience) seems a lot like plugging your brain(and soul) into the matrix in exchange for a paycheck. That certainly can vary from company to company though.
MIT Open Courwsware Free courses available to learn. Python may also be worthwhile to D/L and play.
What you want to program is probably the first question. I got decent at Fortran and ASM but could never make the jump to others due to apathy. I also may have outed my age.
