Got the windshield on my Silverado HD replaced about 4 years ago. They installed the mirror and all has been fine. Went out yesterday morning to find the mirror hanging from its wiring. The problem is this -
The puck pulled a big chunk of glass out of the windshield when it cut loose.
Any tricks on repairing this or is it time for a new windshield?
Edit: Was thinking about maybe gluing the puck to a piece of larger aluminum and epoxy the whole mess to the glass?
Are those cracks radiating from the divot?
If so, I think I would replace the windshield.
I would glue it back on and let it ride.
In reply to Russian Warship, Go Berkeley Yourself :
It looks like glue lines, not cracks up close.
Would it be worth trying one of those parts store windshield chip fixes first? Fill in the hole, let it dry and then glue the mirror back on? Going that route, though, I'd grab a small piece of sheet metal slightly larger than the divot and glue it to then windshield first. Just to prevent the mirror from pulling out the filled in divot. Plus, a slightly larger surface area might make it last a lot longer by spreading the weight of the mirror across more surface.

The correct fix is a new windshield. It should NOT have come apart like that.
The cheap fix is to glue the puck one puck-dimension lower or higher as works best for you. The glass will probably break again though.
