I got a package! Thank you, Indy-Guy!

.......

Nice artwork! Hexapus o' Giving.

More artwork, and a note that this box made the rounds in 2018.

Two TR7 patches, Columbus Scottish Festival's British Car Show memorabilia, and a 5th place rally plaque.

Shop towels, an oil filter, a bottle opener, leaf scented air fresheners,  an old window crank?, some poultry watering nipples, a tiny wrench, three small bungee cords (which will go on the kayak, thank you!), gloves, chocolate coffee cakes, some chocolate, Ford 5.0 swag, a metal bit, a piece of broken pressure plate, wire strippers, two magnets, random gasket, Caddy center cap.

Small cars. Ford GT, Datsun 510 Wagon, The Poo King, Volvo 850 touring car, VW type 3, Jag E-type and carrier. A light switch and more air fresheners, Christian themed light switch cover.

Electrical tape, Combo lock (combo included), handy ratchet and socket set, Indy British Motor Days swag, electrical block off plate, faucet washers (and my plumbing may be old enough that these work), a three into one fire hazard plug, old Craftsman solder gun, two big screws, BMW emblem, light thingy, license plate, another small bungee cord, two Recees cups, a fairly hefty old-style marine clip, another center cap of some sort?, C-Clamp, bag-o-stuff, zip ties, more car show swag.

It's a great haul, thanks again!

He waited the whole time until it was empty.

I think the key is to keep packing the box all year. Having done this for two years now, I'm starting to learn some tricks from seeing what others are getting.

Glad it arrived "mostly" undamaged.  The box is a re-send from MNDSM, and he's responsible for the artwork.  It was too cool, not to send along.

Amongst other things, I decided to include a little token from each of my projects this past year (as chronicled here on GRM).  Here's what you got:

  • The Large zinc plated screws are left overs from the "Pie in the Sky treehouse build"
  • The chunk of flex-plate is from  Humpie the engine donor  ( I had to cut it to remove the transmission)
  • The Chrome piece (next to the chicken waterers in your pic) is the broken leaper hood ornament from the Jaaag
  • The random gasket is from the LS water getting swapped in the TR4
  • The red piece of sheet metal with the "X" on it was sheet metal scrificed from the TR4 that's getting the LS
  • The BMW embem is from Mr Parallels

The Oil Filter and Tool Set are a re-gift from previous years.

If you're not interested in the TR7 patches, please let me know what you'd like for them!

I've got whole stack of them.  PM me your address and I'll send a couple your way.

The pig dude- I'm uh... responsible for that one too. Rico texted me one night and asked for a logo for a BBQ thing he was doing. Make it a pig, but make it look like Rico. I knew Rico wore a hat and has a beard, so I ran with it. That vinyl is the result of that conversation. I believe he has it tattooed on him now too.

Thanks for the background on some of the gifts. Context is good... especially with regifts.

Text from wife:  What did you buy that had to be shipped in duct tape?

ME: Is it heavy?

Wife: Yes, and it sounds broken, mailman down the street, should I catch him?

ME: Nah, I have a soft spot for broken things

GSmith & CSmith packages finally dropped off at the post office.

I had to buy & apply more tape to both...

Mine is California bound, and a *bit* overstuffed. The USPS lady gave me the eye and said I was abusing the flat rate box. I told her it's marked "overstuffed" and it closed, even if it's no longe *quite* square. She took it without further issue :)

Whatever is headed my way has yet to arrive. But that's only fitting as mine was one of the last 2 or 3 packages sent last year. I only wish I hadn't forgotten to grab more empties to start accumulating junk... er, filling up for next year.

So this was waiting for me when I got home from work.....

My helpers were more than willing to tear it as soon as they had their bath....  The corner was a little worse for wear not sure if anything fell out but considering the contents I don't think so....

Their was a note on top that with instructions and a Home Depot gift card that I did manage to open first, The instructions warned of sharps inside (Thank you considering my helpers little hands trying to get everything before I could) now without further adieu the Inside...

So let's see what we have inside..  there is a stack of DVD-R and a Motor craft Oil Filter that peaked one helpers interest.

Helper number two wanted the colored pencils...

The oil filter drew someone else's attention or more so the box drew attention.

After much unwrapping at struggles with my helpers I was able to get most if not all the box contents in one photo

Previously mentioned color pencils, oil filter, DVD-R, Gift card fro home depot

A nice set of picks from Home Depot

Fuel line disconnect tool

Several assorted sockets and adapters

A 4 way screw driver

10mm ratchet wrench

Philips head driver bits

Set of factory Ford tow hooks

Bicycle inner tube sized to fit one of bikes... bonus

Razor knife and pack of blades.

Neat little pocket notebook

Several hose clamps

A click type cable /cord/ clip/ wrap thing

Klein brand soft side lift bucket (very cool)

Texas license plate

The free for all resumed immediately after the picture.

Last there was a very cool hand made top that I had a little trouble getting a good photo of

The helpers and I thank you Mr. Corpus Christi Texas RandomGRM'er

Oh Lawd!

This should work

Well Packed

Slight concern at this point

Awesome haul

Laughed when I saw this, *literally* the exact same cigar box I put in the box I sent out. Was afraid someone had re-gifted to me the exact things I had just mailed out.

Book inside, glad to see this, been wanting to read it since I went to the "Ford vs. Ferrari" movie few weeks back.

Misc. cables. Appear to be some sort of old KVM setup?

Gift within a gift?

Took me longer to open this than I would care to admit. Sweet 4" bench vise circa 1981, and appears to be the old home of the above Misc. cables.

Make your own 4 lug bolt pattern kit, Super rare NOS Nissan oil seal, shifter bushings? And new unknown bushing kit in a bag.

Almost bought myself this Healy Matchbox when I was out Christmas shopping, and TIL they made a CRX Hot Wheels. Pair of aftermarket vacuum & oil pressure gauges. I think i will bench mount them and install googly eyes.

Drive Thru Beer!

Lovely pair of identically broken wrenches, obviously a widely known weak area when used with a cheater bar. Stubby antenna, wish the Miata still had a radio.

Going out on a limb and thinking this is lightly used alternative lifestyle gear, I gloved up just to be safe.

Thank you very much cmcgregor Simply outstanding box you did up.  Recognized the gorilla tape from an earlier post, and the return address confirmed it. Great Fun, can't wait for next year.

Glad you enjoyed it! I thought the vise gave it a nice heft.

The bushing kit is for a Miata sway bar (pretty sure) and those boots are for ball joints. No idea where the oil seal came from. The stickers were mostly acquired from past boxes - that GRM sticker is an og, when it was still America's sports car magazine.

I have literally no idea what those cables are for - I took an unused file cabinet from work and they were in the drawer.

That tangle of pulleys and cables and rope is actually a hard top hoist. Good luck figuring it out - I've never lived anywhere with a garage I could actually pull into, so I figured I'd get it out of here.

I really enjoyed the book and thought it appropriate given the recent movie release (which I have still yet to see)

Thanks for taking my random junk, and happy New Year!

I saw the hard top hoist and thought it was a rafter mounted kayak hoist. They look about the same.

compass, bullet molding material, new handle for my busted ass mustang (how'd you know it was broken?)

some sticky tape, some seals?, and pretty sure if I tried to clean my wheels they'd fall off in protest.

anchors! I'll be a sailor one day.

keychains, ring, key, "not for climbing"

formal attire

aluminum patch panel, pocket knife, and....

a sweet ass keychain totem. Mucho gusto.

A very well sealed box was waiting on my porch yesterday all the way from Oxnard CA.  It didn't look at all suspicious so my ever vigilant watchdog ignored it on his way out to keep the squirrels at bay. I brought it in and this may be the most fun package the wife and I opened this year.

It was jam packed with all sorts of goodies, the first layer had some cables, a distributor of some sort, and a home made power supply, 12 & 5 volt, that I've been playing with.

Tucked behind that were a couple posters for, I love the Imsa Vega, giant reusable Spyder bags  (these bags are huge a weeks grocery's fit in one), a little iPhone fan, car window shades, a 2006 Microsoft map CD  disc so I can move on from my atlas, a promotional cookie for Aerojet Rocketdyne which is an incredible space age sounding name, a couple lanyards, two Groit's spray polishes,

Then we reached the part of the package that gave us the biggest laughs, a bunch of custom vinyl decals. These are awesome.  I've got a screaming unicorn, black and white GRMs, Otto, the patron saint of bus drivers, a few circles that say "Hail to the bus driver " a bus doing a wheelie, and the one that's replacing the name tape on my locker, a bus with Wally on the destination sign and GRM between the headlights.

Thank You so much Thann, this was so much fun.
