Introduced as a more affordable alternative to the 300 SL, the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was still a comfortable go-fast machine that could do well (and look good) on both the sharp hairpins of a race track or the sweeping corners of a canyon road.
This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is an example from the first year of production and comes finished in a recently restored shade of Fire Brigade Red over a new tan leather interior.
The body is noted as being rust-free, with the engine retaining a "satisfying originality" that includes original stamping and the Solex carburetors that the SL received from the factory.
"At the time of cataloging," the car is reported to have 69,837 miles on the odometer, with the jack, spare tire and top boot all included in the sale.
