Yup, I predict that this will fetch a pile of moneys.
Accidents, mechanical damage and provenance: Purpose-built race cars tend to lead interesting lives. But this 2001 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is interesting in a different way: It's never been raced, and it was delivered—from the factory—in black. According to RM Sotheby's, it's believed to be the only non-body-in-white example.
Which raises the question: Since it's eligible for historic racing, should it put on track, or left as-is?
The 911 GT3 RS will be on offer at RM Sotheby's London auction on October 24.
Where are people getting their data? There are several factory black cars...not to mention red, or yellow.
cars were delivered with BBS wheels, these are ATS.. also missing its factory momo Mod 07 Porsche engraved steering wheel... R/RS/RSR did not have ABS from the factory. This car has had ABS installed...
Cool find non-the less, but it is not the "time capsule" untouched unit the auction house tries to state.
