This particular 1964 Ferrari 250 LM is the very car that won first overall at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans. Privately entered by the North American Racing Team, the car ended up stealing some of the limelight from both Ford and Ferrari after both teams’ cars failed to finish the race.
This 250 LM would go on to race a few more times at Le Mans and Daytona, with its last race being in 1970. It was around this time that the car was donated to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Foundation from the collection of the late Kirk F. White.
