Lovers of Elvas, Minis and Spridgets, make sure you keep your September calendar clear.
The annual Put-in-Bay Sports Car Races returns September 16-18, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Elva plus host a “Mini-vs.-Spridget Challenge” that will pit the Austin Mini–and its many derivatives–against Austin-Healey Sprites and MG Midgets.
Interested? Lucky for you, registration is now open.
Vintage sports cars, sedans and open-wheel cars under 3.0 liters and built before 1973 are eligible to race. Cars with larger displacements or built after 1973, but before 1990, may also be eligible upon application.
For those looking to get an on-track experience but without the demands of racing, an exhibition class and classes for non-racers are also available.
In addition to two days of racing at Put-in-Bay Airport, an all entrants car show, police-escorted tour laps of the original road course, paced laps of the airport road course (for non-racing entrants) and several social gatherings are planned.
