A quality restoration needs to look as good under the hood as it does on top.
Like the rest of our car, we found plenty of holes under the hood of our Sprite, too. Figuring out which ones were supposed to be there and which ones had been added became a challenge. Looking at lots of Sprite photos guided us.
Javier of Jeff’s Restorations, our body guy, noticed something while looking at these photos with us: Our front wheel wells had been cut.
While we thought we might need this extra room for our 6-inch-wide wheels and 60-series tires, we didn’t like the resulting flimsiness.
Javier reinforced the wheel wells for us.
