I love the concept and utility of the Maverick, and great price point. I've been a wagon guy for a while and this functionality fits my intended uses better. I'll be in the market in 2-3 years for one, maybe I can pick up a non-sunroof, fully loaded FX4 XLT or Lariat that just came off lease for under $30k.
I really like this little "truck" and the price of entry seems fair. Only thing I see missing is maybe a pass thru to the cabin for longer narrow items.

Seems like it's something you feel strongly about since you' mentioned it three times.....
I'm impressed with the non-hybrid MPG. Wonder if those are with the automatic or manual....

I thought it was CVT / hybrid or automatic / non-hybrid only. Is there now mention of a manual even being available?

Is the cap a secret? There's a brief shot of the cap in one of the promo videos Ford dropped on YouTube back on the 8th:

My bad, I have no idea what I was thinking.

I think it's cute how many people think the Tesla truck is going to end up anything like the vaporware mock-up they showed. And being in the industry, and knowing how recently RFQ's we're going out for various components it's still a long way off.
I'm really looking at this to replace my expedition.
At least 2.0 awd tow package.
Biggest question is how would it do towing my single axle enclosed trailer for the f500. It should be about 3000 lbs of trailer fully loaded (think like a landscaping trailer), but no trailer brakes, though I do have a weight distribution hitch. If I run up into pa again to go racing, will it do better than a crawl up a hill?
If yes, I'm really thinking about it. I have two kids to haul and have to go into DC frequently. I'm kind of over used cars and want to have something in warranty for the first time in my life, but I'm cheap and reject car payments.
I can add trailer brakes if I gotta.

How are you feeling about the length? This is probably the biggest downside for myself. I parallel park quite often, and if my car was 3 feet longer things would be significantly more difficult.
In reply to Apexcarver :
At 250 HP, the 2.0 option is more powerful than my 4.6V8 F150 was, and it was rated to tow nearly 7000 lbs. I suspect power will not be a problem for you, even in the hills, although it may still need to go a little under the speed limit. Trailer brakes would be a good idea, though.
Will they use the Maverick "skate" to make other models ?
Maybe a cargo van like Nissan did with the NV van ?

All up my E250 camper van is 7180 lbs and with the F500 the car and trailer are 1450 lbs. The motor is rated 210 hp/315 tq.
We have some big hills out west; one the steepest longest grades I'm down to 55 mph.
A Maverick and your enclosed trailer would be 1000lbs lighter, sporting more horsepower and has a 4 more gears. I'd expect it to be able to maintain 60-65 on big hills.
As for the trailer brakes you'd have to try it and see but it would likely be something you want to add.
If I ever sold the camper van the Maverick would be a perfect fit for me. I could use it as my daily driver and my tow rig.

Well they used the Focus/Escape/Bronco Sport skate (platform). So the sky's the limit. I doubt they'll do a cargo van though as that's what the Transit Connect is .
I guess I'm in the targeted demographic for the Maverick. I keep "building" one with Ford's B&P tool. With all the delays with the Bronco (painted and modular roofs now delayed until 2023), I'm very tempted to drop my Bronco reservation and get a Maverick instead. It's all the truck I will ever need. I'd be happy with the base hybrid FWD model. My current truck gets about 16mpg combined and I'm dumping $80 a week in gas in it. I don't even use it for truck stuff outside of carrying an 8ft ladder home from Lowes one time.
Also the F150 Lightning Pro has piqued my interest as well. It's the "work truck" trim but it has everything I'd want and nothing I don't need.
I'm a GM fanboi, and i've gotta admit, with this and the F150 Lightning, Ford has nailed it. I would much rather GM had put out something like this instead of the Hummer EV Tonka toy..

Well, its 10 inches shorter than what I am driving now. Plus it has a backup camera.
I really wish it could tow more as a hybrid. The Rampage weighs about 2200 according to Google and a dolly weighs between 500-700 lbs so 3000 is ideal

I posted this earlier, but forgot the answer. Is this the first real hybrid rated to tow basically anything? I agree it would be nice if it could tow more, but its a great start.

Toyota Rav 4 hybrid is rated at 2500 lbs, Highlander is rated for towing and of course Ford F-150 can really get up there.

Well that's the thing, if the Bronco's got supply issues and delays and the F-150 launch went poorly then there's no guarantee that the Maverick launch will go as planned. Even if the virus is "over".

If they make a plug-in series hybrid (like my Chevy Volt), or better yet a full EV this would be plenty of truck for me. It would be a reasonable daily driver for me too, with most of the comfort of a car.

I am always amazed about how guys can stuff a huge dually into a compact parking place in Downtown Dallas. Of course you don't want to be the one they parked next to.

I still like the Tesla. The Maverick still looks like a smaller version of every other new truck they make which is meh.
If I can't have the Tesla, I would really rather take my old F100 into a hot rod shop and spend $30,000 to have them make a restomod truck out of it.
