Cans and glass bottles usually taste best since they can hold the most carbonation. Generally the larger the bottle the flatter it tastes which is why the three liter bottles disappeared from the major brands.
My dad owned a 7up route until I was about 16. We probably drank more soda than anything as kids. Now I mostly drink seltzer, a Diet Pepsi or 7up.
Diet nothing, tastes horrible to me. I do kill something like 40oz of Mt Dew a day and probably 20-24 of Dr Pepper. I also usually drink a couple gallons of water a day also since I'm always drinking. I don't drink coffee; prefer to not even smell it. I grew up on Ginger Ale, New York Seltzer Water and Mello Yello but don't drink any of those these days.
My father in law drink a E36 M3 ton of that stuff. Still quite fit for a 72 year old man. Reason he loves it so much is a bit ridiculous. "It's still tastes the same cold or warm. Can't say the same for cola"
I tried Mnt Dew Zero a few weeks ago. Holy hell, that was super sweet. I couldn't even finish the 20oz bottle.

Find a cure for diabetes and I'll go back to leaded Dew.
Yes, I realize, that to the uneducated, that statement is rife with irony

Confession: I'm a Diet Mt. Dew addict. I drink it almost daily. I don't drink coffee so this is what I drink for caffeine (along with English tea). I see a ton of bottles of the diet Bartle Skeet in other members photos. I always say it's because I'm from West Virginia and we all know that WV is Mountain Dew Country.
So, who else is a diet dew addict?
[in the cadence of an intro at an AA meeting.] "Hi Everyone. My name is Joey and I run on Mt. Dew..."
I have a refrigerator in the garage that I keep stocked with the stuff. I think that about sums up the situation.

Water is an inorganic solvent that can ignite elemental sodium.

The diet Dew isn't as bad tasting as other diet sodas but ill maybe drink on or two a year. Regular Dew is maybe a one every few weeks for me. In a past place I worked, the soda machine was stocked with Pepsi and Dew products and some people would drink 2-3 cans a day. I enjoy a Kick Start or Baja Blast with Taco Bell once in a blue moon as well.

Diesel coke sounds nutritious.
'Round these parts, "diesel" is slang for the OG, Heavy Sugar version. As in "Diet or Diesel"
Started out because farm diesel is dyed red, and Milwaukee's Best Light came in blue cans and full test Milwaukee's Best came in red cans of a similar hue. Hence "diesel"
I prefer Mountain Dew as my soda drink. However, my wife is 100% addicted to Dr. Pepper. I actually refurbished a soda machine for her so we didn't need to buy all those bottles of her drug. But it turned out the soda machine juice was actually more expensive, so we sold it and went back to 2 litres bottles. I hit the $99 cent store and buy them 25 at a time for her. Since we always have it 100% of the time, I end up drinking it. But I drink coffee. Black, the only way coffee should be consumed. :)
During the warmer months, I drink Wylers Lite, specifically the Fruit Punch, no calories, non-carbonated, super cheap, no big bulky bottles to deal with, and tastes great. Their other flavors are good too, rasberry lemonaide in particular is my second choice when the FP is out. I can mix in some Dr. Pepper with the punch too sometimes to get a bit of fizz.

I drink the Diet Dew. I find if I get too much blood in my caffeine system I get headaches so I keep the levels where they should be. I have a complaint that I'm about to send to PepsiCo over the price. The bottom has dropped out of the oil market, some days they are paying people to take delivery of contracts. Since I can't pronounce most of the ingredients in diet Mt Dew I figure it is a petroleum bi-product. Why won't they lower the price???

This is one of those American things I just never understood and I've lived in NC for 5 years. I had colleagues who drank 3-4 bottles a day, often the first one right in the morning at 8am.
No sane person can fool themselves into thinking that:
A. Drinking several bottles of ANY soda/soft drink per day is a healthy habit.
B. Being addicted to a chemical mix of sweetener and caffeine isn't a warning sign that you've formed some bad habits.
C. The 2 points above aren't going to affect your health down the road.

Soda is the perfect example of why we're all so fat. Enormous amounts of calories, highly processed foods with basically no unprocessed ingredients, and over consumed with abandon.
I can't drink diet anything. They all taste nasty. However mtn dew is my drug of choice. Unfortunately I'm allergic to corn and thus corn syrup, fortunately I can find throwback dew made with real sugar instead. And my prostate hates me for it.

I'm into Mt. Dew Zero now. I could never drink diet Mt. Dew on account of it tasting so terrible. But Zero is almost as good as regular Dew. Code red is my favorite but can't get it in Zero so I only have it a few times a month now.
Little known fact I invented code red except I called it Grenadew.
Spot on code red diet. thank me later.
"More caffeine than a truck stop urinal"
Drank quite a bit of the Dew in college. Twenty five years since.. not for me thanks
I am living proof that Mt Dew is great!
We did the math once.
3 to 6 12oz canned Dews a day since about 1994.
Avg 4 a day for 9,450 days or so comes to about 38,000 Dews.
Consider that my favorite adult beverage is the self invented WhiskeyDew and a BUNCH long work hours and red eye roadtrips and you could put that number much higher.
I'm known to my coworkers to set a pace that's hard to keep up with and I've been doing it for basically my whole adult life.

Diet anything is just "die" with a "t".
Thank you Garfield.
Regular dew for me, plastic bottle only. It's... harsh..... from a can. And the throwback stuff is too sweet. But not often, I'm usually a coke man. Dr Pepper when I'm in the mood to lose half or more to the wife. But Dew is a solid third.

How excited were you when they brought back Diet Baja Bast?
Or sad when they dropped Supernova?
Oh man. Bring back Supernova! I stockpiled Supernova before it went away. I saved them for special occasions and drank them sporadically for the next year or two. Expiration dates on soda are mostly irrelevant, as it turns out.

I'm aware of A and B, but I substitute the following for C:
C. We all gotta die sometime, might as well enjoy life right up until then (minus the final few years or so, during which I'm sure I'll be suffering with all sorts of pain and ailments from my lifelong habits of eating and drinking total garbage...eh whatever)
