My stepson kept dragging his feet over returning my pancake air compressor. When I finally cornered him in his garage with the compressor, he confessed that he had broken the drain valve - “sorry dude”.

All of the display models at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. were missing their drain valves so I had no choice but to actually spend real cash money on a replacement.

Anyway, I ordered a replacement part through an on-line distributer and to my amazement, it arrived quickly, fit perfectly, and even came pre-coated with leak stop stuff.

I got off work at a reasonable time, pto was awesome, my munchkin totally rocked karaoke, and chores for the day are done early enough that I can sit in my recliner.

If all goes according to plan, tomorrow I'll get time to work on the duster.

I've had a high and wandering idle (like over 2000 RPM) on the E36 race car for a couple weeks. Based on the symptoms I was sure it was either a vacuum leak or a bad idle control valve. Last night I started the dig for the ICV, checking for cracks in the hoses as I went. Before I got too far I notice the throttle was stuck open. Hit the linkage with my "Tool Box Buddy," pieced everything back together, and my idle returned to normal. Should have been one of the first places I looked, but I'm happy with the simple fix. Not sure how it was causing revving at idle, but it's gone now.

Not a minor win yet, but at least some encouragement: My uncle's chemo is working. The tumor is still shrinking, and the metastasis to the liver is decreased as well.

Minor win with a side of "I'm amazed". In the winter of 14/15 I rebuilt a poulan wild thing chainsaw. I ported the piston very slightly and opened up the muffler.Added a new carb and filter with some fresh lines too.Well... today I finally got to tune it. It is a different saw. It revs higher and quicker, and cuts like a hot knife. Four tanks later and I have a new section of yard and damn near a cord of un-split locust.

After 9 months of suffering with an unplugged MAF in the Ranger and dealing with the resultant E36 M3ty driving characteristics I finally broke down and bought a brand new one. Installed tonight in two minutes and she fired right up and ran like a top!

Let's cross our fingers for a happy commute in the morning but it feels like $80 well spent.

The stupid LG dishwasher threw a "replace motor" (buy a new one) code, but the broken wire I found in the door indicates otherwise, hopefully I won't even have to pull it out of the hole, just fix the wire and the other two on the way out.

edit: It lives again! The harness gets embedded in the tar board and can't move when you open the door, I taped over that section of tar to keep it from happening again, as the factory should have done.

Big overhead garage door opener at work died 2 years ago and we had to open and close by hand. One guy was on a ladder and hit the reset switch this week and now it works fine. Awesome!

According to the increase in 0-60 the Cadillac makes another 100hp. Been dragging for the last two months, bad condenser in the distributor. ~15$ and its back to life. Was thinking the worst with one of the valves, been bad for a long time I bet, car sounds great now.

Less than 3 weeks till the new season of Archer!

But lots of minor wins, the new tires and wheels are on and awesome, and the lightbar is fabbed up. Needs painted and wired, but after a week berkeleying around with metric bolts and no room to work, its on the car!

And when all was finally said and done, checked in on my websites twitter feed and notice not only am I gaining (relatively) important accounts as followers, they're mentioning me and spreading the word around. Still not popular enough for free demo products, but getting closer every day.

Career change seems to be working extremely well. Like, for everyone. Sorta wish I hadn't wasted so many years being miserable before changing and doing what was obviously the right choice, but hey, a win is a win!

Put an offer down on a house last night (first time buyer here.) I don't think I've ever been so simultaneously excited and anxious about anything before in my life. Fully expecting the initial offer to be rejected, but we'll see what the seller counters with. Gonna be a nerve wracking couple of weeks ahead...

Still counting this as a win though
