Making our Sprite easier to trailer by installing proper tie downs

Photography by Tim Suddard

Our Bugeye Sprite will likely spend some time on the trailer–not because we expect it to break but, rather, we’ll likely tow it to some events. We don’t see this car covering hours upon hours on the highway.

We needed proper tie-downs.

For the front, we pulled some later Midget tow hooks from our parts stash. We mounted them along the frame rails, right at the pivot point for the nose.

At the rear, we fabricated some hooks out of quarter-inch aluminum and mounted them beneath the bumper guard mounting points.
