Mecum Kissimmee: Biggest Collector Car Auction Ever

January’s biggest sale doesn’t take place in Scottsdale. The most lots will cross the block in Kissimmee, Florida, as Mecum plans to auction some 3500 vehicles.

Their showcase vehicle is a rare piece. How rare? One of two surviving Ford GT40 Roadsters–and the only one to have raced at Le Mans.

Looking for something even rarer? How about the 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake, the Ford GT40-powered one-off created to showcase Goodyear’s Thunderbolt white wall tires. Or the Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell Corvettes?

Or are you looking for something else? It’s probably there as during our visit we saw something for nearly every taste and budget, from traditional British classics like a no reserve 1979 Triumph Spitfire and MG TD to a legit BMW 2002tii and one of maybe 25 blue Cosworth Vegas ever built.

The sale lasts until January 13, and you can learn more at Mecum’s website.
