Giving our Sprite an alignment fit for spirited driving

Photography by Tim Suddard

Our Sprite was so close to being complete: rebuilt engine, fresh bodywork, a welcoming interior.

Before we could go for a test drive, though, we needed to get the chassis aligned.

Longtime friend and race alignment expert Geoff Thompson of the Alignment Shop Inc. adjusted our offset bushings to get close to ¾ degrees of negative camber.

He set the toe at near zero to keep the car stable on the street. Caster is set by the factory and is non-adjustable.
